The Tegernsee valley - peace, quiet and Bavarian "Gemütlichkeit"

Kreuth covers a space of 123 square kilometres, its 17 districts lie in the wide Weissach river valley between Tegernsee and the Austrian / Tyrolean border, at an altitude of 800 to 1,800 metres. Our church, St. Leonhard Church, was built in 1491. The most important traditional feast day in Kreuth is St. Leonard's day, which is celebrated with a pilgrimage by horse and carriage to honour Saint Leonhard on the 6th November of each year. The mineral springs in Wildbad Kreuth were already appreciated for their healing quality in the middle ages. The "old baths" with a chapel and baths were created as early as 1696.
